You have to understand, Boku no Pico was market researched out the wazoo. Everything in it was what the creators thought would appeal to their target audience. If your tastes match that, yay for you.

People who loved shota manga. At the time, there had never been a shota anime, only shota manga.

Is there a source on this history of Boku no Pico, cause that sounds weirdly fascinating. Like, how did they even conduct the market research? I must know more.
