You in canada? UNless you're really really young, and you're grandmother had your mother really young, and your mother had you really young, then no. Women were still property back then.

Which country are you in where women 50/60 years ago were treated better than property of men?

Most of western Europe things weren't nearly as bad as that. Things weren't great, but women had considerably more freedom than you're making out. My maternal Grandmother danced for the French national ballet, my paternal Grandmother fought in the resistance and later became a Chemist. They weren't from any unusual backgrounds, and their life stories were not unusual either. Well, apart from the ballet I guess.
