I mean, like, that wouldn't make any sense at all given the way they portrayed her storyline in the first movie, so

... which is probably why OP is making a secret about it and fully acknowledges they don't believe this will actually happen?

100% agreement with you. At this rate, I just hope she's not a skywalker.

I wouldn't care if she weren't a Skywalker. Like you say, I doubt that will happen, but it would be kind of cool to have her be a bit of an 'outsider'.

Not that I even hate the idea of her being a Skywalker, but given how likely it seems, and how much a large subset of the fanbase wants it, I would be totally okay with them going in a completely different direction.

I just don't want her to be a Skywalker. I sort of take for granted that her lineage will be discovered in canon, but not doing that would also be cool!

I just feel like you're watching the wrong movie then. That's not what SW movies are and that's okay. There's nothing wrong with having some movies with firm answers. Not all movies are for all people. SW is a popular popcorn movie series and they do that well.

Given the richness of the EU, I think this idea has potential. Making her a Skywalker would be completely uninspired, especially since Kylo was a Solo. But I'm sure that's where they're going.

Yeah, I'd enjoy that too. I've never been a fan of fate/destiny/chosen one storylines. But it seems like it's kind of a plot point already, so I really hope her parents are kind of just nobodies. They could have worked for the rebellion or something, but having her be Obi-wan's granddaughter or something would just be kind of too cheesy for me.

As long as she's not a Skywalker, I'm cool.

I feel this way about most characters with ~mysterious origins~. I'd much rather not find out and have people speculate than get a firm explanation. I also wished there had never been an explanation about Jon Snow's parentage.

I am gonna agree to disagree with you.

Rey Skywalker all the way!
