The worst thing about the Krabat movie is that it turned an interesting book into a boring af movie. Not the worst I've ever seen but ya, def one of the least favorite bc the book was awesome

It's not just boring, it's just plain bad.
If they had pretended that it was a very loose adaption of the book and maybe some of the original legend, I may have forgiven them but the whole thing was just terrible as a proper adaption. Nothing about it was right (maybe the casting/costume of the master but that is almost impossible to mess up).

I think my "favourite" dumb thing was the way they shoehorned a fighting scene in and instead of using the characters' ... well they're not really wands or staffs (and why the fuck did they even have those) but yeah, those staff/wand/clubs for magic, they used them to beat the shit out the attackers.
Oh, and how they carted the whole film crew to some place in the Carpathian Mountains for shooting. The area the book takes place in doesn't look anything like that. Nowhere near.

Sorry, I could go on a huge rant- this book is an important part of my childhood and to see it messed up like that is downright painful and infuriating. It's similar to the movie adaption of The Dark is Rising.
