... there is nothing wrong with (reasonable) noise complaints. Like, if your neighbours are blasting loud music in the middle of the night, and ignore you when you try to talk to them, what the hell else are you supposed to do? Just not sleep?

But you should not be calling 911 for noise complaints. Every police department has a non-emergency number so you don't have to tie up the 911 line.

I looked up the non-emergency city number, and when I called to tell them I was attempting to file a noise complaint, they told me to call the police. So, I did, and a cop came out and solved the problem. *shrug* (This is in Dallas.)

Yeah, the PD should have an emergency (911) and non-emergency number.
