I have to say I agree. There's somethign about the beardless picture that is just... too much. It's more than just the chin, it's something about the whole face. Maybe it's that he's one of those guys who is overbearingly goodlooking. The beard softens that and makes him look more approachable, and while it's quite bushy, it's not so long it looks unkempt.

I think you have a point. Sometimes people are so perfect (this man's bone structure... Damn) that it almost makes them less appealing? If that makes sense. You kind of look at them and feel like they aren't actually real, and the beard makes him look more like an everyday hot dude.
