I never once said downloading was morally right in any way. All I said was that it some areas anime is ridiculously expensive (especially the long series) and/or difficult to find, so it is understandable why some people would do it.

Does that take away from the fact that you (general you) are stealing? No. Does it give some people more of an incentive to download? Yes. But it's still going to happen as long as anime continues to remain inaccesable, and no amount of moral preaching is going to change that. If it it remains to be such a problem to the companies, then they should try to fix these problems so that less people would be tempted to download.

You and I actually do seem to be on pretty similar pages, but how do they fix them? I'm not being snarky, I'm really interested in your ideas. Most (not all but most) series are fairly affordable in comparison to other medium, assuming you're in American shipping area (Let's keep it to that area since outside there's a shit load of variables, and I wouldn't blame anyone for not wanting to pay $70 for a disc of whatever)

So for the typical American fan who's downloading when they could easily go down to Best Buy and drop a $20 for it, what do you think they should do? I don't think the issues are the exceptions to this middle ground (The people who live in new Zealand or don't have internet access, or whatever) they're the typical fan who buys bootlegs of e-bay instead of best buy.

Hmmm....well, I can't say business is my forte, but I think that having more episodes on a DVD would probably make the buyer feel that he/she is getting his or her money's worth. I know there are some series where only four or five episodes are on a DVD that costs $20/25. This wouldn't be a problem if the series was only 12 or so episodes long, but for the long and epic series that go for 50 or more episodes, the companies could definitely try to fit more in.

I'm sure there are more ways, so I'll try to think of more later. If you have any ideas I'll also be interested in hearing them.

I think the slim box's some companies are offering are AMAZING. They make me very happy.

I dunno if 5 is a bad episode amount. Anything lower...yeah. i remember buying FLCL and it was 2 per $30 disc. 100% of the reason I never finished that series.

I think WELL MARKED stripped down version would be a good idea. I know Loveless had no dub so was only $14 (However, since I'm particularly dub oriented, it would be nice if that were marked somewhere besides the tiny font in the bottom) Sub only, or no etra (Honestly, how often is an anime DVD extra worth it?)

More of those little trial discs. I dunno if you've ever run into those but they'd have episode one of like...5 shows. Those got me into so much.
