Later today I'll be uploading a fic chapter to fanfiction.net for the first time in YEARS. Do author's notes still need to be part of the chapter file you upload? It looks that way, but I haven't really dug deep into the process yet.

You can edit the file after it's been uploaded, but it has to be part of the text. It's not like AO3 where there's a separate text box.

Okay, I'm going to be a dick here answer ask why you still use ff.net because I seriously don't get it.

I primarily use Ao3, but I started at FFN before Ao3 was a thing, and I don't see the reason to delete that account. Especially when people are clearly still reading things on it. So it's kind of a holding ground for old WIPs, and should I ever finish them, I'll copy the completed story over to my Ao3 account.
