How's it going, folks? Making it through the week OK?

I've been off all week. I did have wednesday afternoon to friday booked as holidays, so I was going to have the second half off anyway, but I woke up on sunday with 75% of my cornea gone. It's a week off work but it's agonizing pain. My pay from monday through to today lunchtime is forfeit, and the holidays I was going to take for the rest of the week are going to be shit. I'd rather have just had a normal hump day.

That really sucks, but, um, if you don't mind my asking, how does part (or all) of your cornea vanish? Did you get in an accident or have surgery or what? Sorry about your non-holiday, those are the worst.

Dry eye syndrome coupled with cornea erosion. My eyelids get dry over night, stick to my eyeball, I wake up, pull open my eyelids as a reflex, and *RIIIIIP*.

Ouch! I'm guessing if you have to take a week off, this is a surface thing that will heal and not permanent damage? I hope? I had a corneal abrasion a few years ago that scratched up about 30% of the surface area, but only in the surface layer, so it regenerated completely. (I wanted to kiss the opthamologist who said I'd be fine after the emergency room doctor was all doom and gloom.) It hurt LIKE FUCK but it really did heal completely.

Oh, yeah, it'll heal, but its a chronic condition so I have this to look forward to again and again.

And Did you get those numbing drops put in? for me the part where I would have kissed the opthamologist was when he put that beautiful nectar in my eye and took all the pain away. To hell with kissing, if he wanted me to blow him I'd have done it.

Okay, I do not get this hump day thing?

As in, you've gotten "over the hump" of the middle of the week, and now it's closer to the weekend than to the beginning of the week.

Long and hot. It is going to be 101 tomorrow. :( And my work doesn't have a single friggin' pokemon near it. I am in some kind of dead zone.

I'm doing good, mainly because school's out and I've just been cleaning and binge reading manga.

It's been thundering and raining here a lot for the past week and the air is so heavy and humid. I also feel like I might be ill.

Other than that it's cool, mostly been staying at home.

Yeah, pretty good. Went to Wal-Mart for paper this morning, checked the mail on the way home. Went swimming after lunch and then came home and mowed the lawn when the temp was 30C/34C with the humidex. Looking back, I probably should've done those two things in the reverse order.

The sad thing is that two weeks of summer vacation are now done. *sigh* The only thing shorter than a weekend is a vacation. I remember when I was a kid summer seemed to last forever--now it just flies by.

Sorry, sorry, it's not you, but "hump day" sets my teeth on edge this week thanks to this little shit.

Sweet holy shit, I was not familiar with that person.

I had to turn off the video because after 90 seconds I was vividly imagining beating the living shit out of a child, which makes me uncomfortable.

My poor cat is having problems with his butt and I'm going to have to take him to the vet tomorrow. I feel terrible for not noticing anything was wrong sooner! He's been hiding under my bed all night and that's very unlike him, so he must be in a lot of pain and that's killing me. :( He's the sweetest cat in the world, too, my poor little dude.

I'm sorry to hear that! Hope the vet helps him feel better soon!

Not the greatest day--it's so hot here it's genuinely a health hazard, and all the plans I made for the day just didn't really materialize. I've embraced the fact that today just wasn't a day for me to get work done and am now lying in front of a fan with chocolate milk and the internet.

Pokemon go people were unkind and its bummed me out :/

Good. I actually made it through last night without needing Norco, work was no more than usually annoying, and I spent the evening eating pizza and watching Deadpool with my friend and her teenagers.

I've managed to get through the week so far without going postal despite provocation from literally everyone I've had to interact with, so looking good so far.
