It's not the dumbest, but it's the one example that immediately popped to mind. I can't remember the title, but it was a YA book and the MC was sleeping over at her best friend's house. The best friend has a poster of Damon from The Vampire Diaries on her wall. The MC comments that Damon is a blond vampire with eyes that follow her around the room. The best friend says Damon is such a hot blond. Damon's not blond, not even in the books, so it kinda bugged me.
