I'm not fully sure what you mean. My first guess is that you're saying the attacker was a Muslim, which is fairly likely, but I'd like to see it confirmed first.

I'm starting to get desensitized to this shit in Europe just like I have been desensitized to it in the Middle East (due to violence there being in the backdrop of all the news I've absorbed since I was a kid), and this feeling of desensitization is kind of creeping me out.

I hope the death toll doesn't climb any higher.

Same. When it happened in Paris in November, I was in shock and couldn't relax all night. Now it's like... "wow, that's awful, onto the next thing..."

And I'm not proud of that.

I'm just starting to feel a bit hopeless. Angry and hopeless. And also numb. Like it's the new mass shooting in the US. Violence after violence after violence.

I found out about this when I caught a glimpse of the news coverage on a TV while walking through the lobby of the hotel where I'm staying for work. I just thought "Whelp. Time to go up to my room and find out what happened THIS TIME."

I expected something would happen on or around Bastille Day, but I can't believe their law enforcement couldn't have done more to prevent something this serious.

I hope people remember that this is not "The middle east is full of violent sociopaths" rather than this being a natural reaction to france's xenophobic and racist culture.
