A/B/O recs?

(Anonymous) 2016-07-15 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I stopped reading fic for a few years, and then holy shit, A/B/O was everywhere. There are things I should like about it, the power dynamics and the bonding and maybe the worldbuilding, but the few fics I've tried have felt shallowly built and shallowly characterized.

Can anyone give me any recs? I'm not huge on self-lubricating asses (and even less big on mpreg), but I'm willing to give it a try anyway if it's in a fic you think is well written. I mostly read HP and Supernatural fic these days, but I'm familiar with the extended Marvel and DC universes--and, again, I'm willing to try any fandom if it's well written. Bonus points if you've got any fic with ladies in it.

Chash used to write a lot of SPN RPS fic that subverted ABO. There were some ladies in it too I recall.

Okay. I tried searching for alpha -mpreg. This is what I came up with. These are all older bookmarks but I remember liking them. That said, I don't know if they have the asses and such. But some do have a bit more subversive stuff. Heed warnings and all that.

Sink or Swim (Erik/Charles; XMFC AU) http://archiveofourown.org/works/4648683/chapters/10603533 Erik is a struggling single dad of three kids with a burning hatred for Sebastian Shaw, the man who wronged him years ago. He’s tried to move on with his life, but a run-in with Shaw’s rude, spoiled omega, Charles, drags up old anger.

When Charles ends up in the hospital after an accident, Erik goes to confront him only to find that Charles has amnesia. In the confusion, Charles mistakenly assumes that Erik is his mate.

Erik knows he should clear up the misunderstanding, but how can he pass up this perfect chance for a little revenge?

This Could Be So Dirty That it Just Ain't Right (Peter/Stiles; Teen Wolf [features Omega/Omega couple]) http://archiveofourown.org/works/2521997 Ever since Stiles presented as an Omega, he hasn't been feeling the same urges as his peers. When he's around an Alpha that's not Scott (who is pretty much his brother at this point), his first reaction is to shrink away, not try to press closer. Until he meets Peter Hale. Who acts like the most annoying, entitled kind of Alpha on the planet. Except he's not one. He's an Omega. Of course, Stiles would turn out to be every type of gay possible.

Becoming an Omega (John Watson/Sherlock) http://archiveofourown.org/works/827631/chapters/1571778 In a world where your second gender is determined by bloodtype and most children are born from Alpha-Omega couples, John, who was born a Beta, is captured by Moriarty at the end of the Great Game. Before the pool-incident he is injected with a hormone-laced chemical that, unknown to him, overrides and changes his bloodtype, causing him to turn slowly into an Omega. After surviving the incident, things starts changing between John and Alpha Sherlock, though neither knows just how much and what the consequences of John becoming torn between his Beta mind and his new Omega body might be.

Marked (Bane/John Blake/Barsad; The Dark Knight Rises [features Omega/Omega/Alpha couple]) http://archiveofourown.org/works/780371/chapters/1469673 Kink meme Prompt: John and Barsad are omegas in love--secretly. Omegas aren't allowed to be together because they are special; they must be bonded to an alpha. This is where Bane comes in, he is an alpha and (eventually) bonds to both.

Summary: Barsad and John found each other as orphaned children, drawing close and dreaming of growing up together and bonding when they differentiated. They never thought it could be anything other than their destiny.

It is years before they see each other again, each bonded, but not to each other. And on opposite sides of a war.

Oooh, that Steter one looks really interesting. I love omegaverse fics with alpha/alpha or omega/omega couples

Specific A/B/O request

Has anyone ever written anything where the Betas were the ones who could both knock people up and get pregnant, while the Alphas and Omegas were limited to one role?

I think some fics imply it, but because the focus is on the Alphas and Omegas, the Betas get sidelined.

There's a Teen Wolf one, where Stiles writes a pregnancy guide or something..? It had all combos. Female alpha/alpha couple (I think), het beta/beta couple, male/male a/o couple.
