Characters who are always drawn too pretty

Vent your irritation about fanartists beautifying fictional characters to extremes, making them thinner, younger, sexier, etc, in their fanart or taking away aspects of their appearance that are part of their character if they're not as conventionally attractive (like grey hair, or big noses or forehead lines or bellies).

Aziraphale from Good Omens.

tbf, wasn't his description pretty vague? the only thing I remember about his physical appearance is that he had a stuffy fashion sense and plump hands

He was plump and dowdy and middle-aged. Certainly not the pretty boy he gets drawn as.

nhayrt

Can you quote the passages that describe him this way? I'm not saying it's untrue, but I only remember what the anon above you remembers.

Ack, I'm afraid I can't. My only copy is another city at my folks' house. I remember it being the case though. Sorry, that's not very helpful!

I really like the complexity of Severus Snape, but he's not a pretty man. He just isn't. And a lot of that is because he's miserable and doesn't take care of himself (This is, of course, open for interpretation, but it's my reasoning for why he's 'greasy'.), and he always looks so nice in fanart.

I always figured part of it also just came with his job. Being stuck in a room all day, five days a week, teaching kids how to brew potions--which means fumes and heat all the time--would ruin anyone's hair and make them greasy.

He was greasy as a kid too, though.

Snape. I haven't seen an accurately ugly Snape yet (and that pregnant Snape pic doesn't count.)

MEMORIES

I am nearly sure I remember some that at least had him hook-nosed and lank-haired, but it was so long ago that it's possible I'm just projecting the image in my head.

The Escaflowne men. Like. Yeah, it's a romantic show. But at least draw them masculine. They fight wars.

Pretty much any incarnation of Sherlock Holmes has most of their quirks and angles smoothed out until he's pretty enough for the artist. In addition, any character played by RDJ is usually drawn half a foot taller than he is in canon (i.e. where RDJ's wearing lifts or standing on a platform half the time to give him a few more inches).
