MLP doesn't often have twisted relationships, but it often has relationships as the bright spot in an otherwise dark fic (e.g. the unabashedly tropey Our Voices Carry Through the Hills.) Steven Universe is similar, but it also has twisted Lapis/Jasper and twisted unrequited Pearl -> Rose.
