People like to say this movie bombed. It did, domestically. Internationally it did insane money. It destroyed in China. It is also now the highest grossing video game movie ever, because of China.

It will get a sequel, it is an expected trilogy.

Also rumors have it that Legendary Picture makes more off Chinese box office than companies normally do since Dalian Wanda bought them. But I haven't seen any receipts fully to back that up.
