When I used to care about Glee everyone was really into Brittana, and I thought it was creepy and forced.

I softened on him a bit after Civil War, but pre-Civil War I didn't have an opinion either way on Bucky, and as a Stony fan was mostly saddened by the sudden surge in Stucky fic for premises I would have enjoyed for Stony. But Stony is still a pretty huge ship so it wasn't a whole lot of sad.

I felt the same way about Brittany and Artie at times too, tbh. He'd do things to cheer her up that seemed more appropriate for a big brother to a little sister. Brittany just seemed too dim (bordering on mentally disabled) for me to really be comfortable with her and anyone, really. MAYBE if they'd revealed Brittany to have a disability and Artie and Brittany connected through that?

Brittany was difficult because the show wanted to have her be Too Dumb To Live while also expecting me to believe she was capable of making mature adult decisions about sex. The scenes about Santana purposefully lying to Brittany about whether or not sleeping with a girl counted as cheating (AND IT WORKING), and the time she said she would tell Brittany if she was Prom Queen that it was the law to be with her just really made me hate that ship. The first kind of encouraged the idea that Brittany wasn't really capable of understanding what was happening when it came to romantic relationships, and the second showed that Santana didn't think much of Brittany's intelligence either (I believe her exact words were 'gullible') which left a bad taste in my mouth.

I loved Brittana when I fist watched Glee but I'm pretty sure if I re-watched it now I wouldn't like it so much anymore(so I don't lol). Especially with what you've detailed below because yeeesh.

But Glee would constitute as my Problematic Fave back then I think.

I think you're the one I talked to about this last night, but rewatching Glee is definitely a very odd experience. I find myself liking characters I hated, and yelling at my favorite characters. 23 year old me and 17 year old me are very different people.

Yeah, Glee could be very very problematic. But it just tried so goshdarn hard.

Yes same person(different icon :P). And I get you, I've rewatched some shows I saw as a kid/teen and I very often end up with completely different faves and hates, it tells me how much my overall tastes have changed though.

(And sometimes it stays the same but it's not as common for that to happen).

Oh I appreciate it for what it tried to do, even if it made stumbling steps along the way, I mean just imagine how TV today will look 20 years from now.

I have only like, four icons, and I think this is the only one that isn't Labyrinth.

20 years from now Glee will look downright conservative, or at least I hope so, because Glee actually could be a bit judgmental.
