I remember loving this show as a kid. The channel I watched it on played it every morning before school. However, for some reason they inexplicably would jump between the two series (that I later learned were Chaotic Century and New Century). So it was very confusing to follow because I never knew why it would be just Zoid battles for fun then switch to Zoids starring a little dinosaur that mind melded with the big Zoid and had to save the world.

I think it was Chaotic Century, but they were missing the last 4 episodes and so every time it played, I would get frustrated because we didn't know how it ended. Well, they got those 4 episodes and played them when I was unable to watch and I got so mad because they never played them again.

The dog in the lower right is particularly cool-looking IMO

Pretty sure that is the Liger Zero. I loved how they could change their zoids abilities with different armors and weapons.

I watched Voltron recently with a friend and we both had this same thought. :(

I understand the feeling.

Thing is, "Voltron" is that for me. I grew up watching the original (well, the hacked-up-mish-mash that I had no idea was cobbled together from Japanese series), so for me "Voltron" is a nostalgia trip.
