Re: What story's premise do you like, but you hate the execution?

I once tried to read a book where one of the demons in Hell gets sick of being in Hell and decides to march up to the gates of Heaven and humbly beg God for forgiveness, fighting any other demons who try to stop him. It sounds incredibly cool, but the way it was written felt so dreary and boring.
