I agree with you on both Galadriel and Gandalf. I think Gandalf's handling of Erebor quest could have been better, and I like the earlier version of Galadriel that had being a prideful young thing when she chose to leave Valinor. She doesn't need to have had a direct hand the the First Kinslaying, but she left Valinor in hopes of claiming a territory and becoming a queen.

I think my opinion of Gandalf has gone down due to my RP tendencies (my characters tend to be allied with the Dwarves), but while my opinion of Galadriel has solidified due to RP, it pre-existed my Silmarils and their adoration of their eldest brothers.

Turin... he takes the worst of Sigurd and Kullervo and does it in a way I have little sympathy for. He's up there in my lack of sympathy right next to the middle Fëanorions (Celegorm, Caranthir and Curufin).
