I just wish there were more fun people in fandom. There used to be fun people, I know there were. But now everyone is soooo serious and angry and worried all the time about social issues and walking around on eggshells lest they offend someone or say the wrong thing that will get them socially ostracized, and it sucks. I used to be a fun person. I used to laugh and joke and talk kink all the time, and now I'm an angerball, too. I used to have so much fun in fandom, and now it just makes me hate humanity.

OK, so this is more of a whine than a rant, and I do fully appreciate the irony of what I'm saying here.

Is it worth to you to have crappy people.on your flist? I'd rather have 2 awesome people than 20 mostly terrible people on my friend list.

Trust me, dude, I cleared like half the people on my follow list, and it was SO WORTH IT. Stress INSTANTLY cleared.

I mean, if they still have stuff you really like, you can always manually visit their tumblr and do a quick scroll through. But keep the dash stuff that's actually FUN, I figure.

That's not a fandom problem so much as a you're terrible at curating your friends list problem.

There are still fun people in fandom. Pull the stick out of your ass, stop following hand-wringing idiots, and go find them.

Considering I have very little patience for people who are all "woe is me, I'm a salty asshole who surrounds myself with salty assholes, why is fandom no fun :( :( :(", I'm going to take that as a win.

I hear you, but I feel like this is an internet-wide problem, not just fandom. The 'everything is so serious, we must always talk about serious issues' people are everywhere right now. And the angry people, everywhere.

Hopefully the pendulum swings back the other way again someday soon.
