It sounds like they're saying that the GOP loves LGBT people now. Which isn't true.

I think the context of further comments implies that they were merely pointing out a change in standard GOP operating procedure, not saying "Hey look, the GOP loves LGBT people now, and they must be sincere!" but I can see where you might read that they actually thought the GOP would support LGBT rights just based on the first comment.

But my point remains, even saying that is in no way the same as saying "And I'm voting for Trump!" Making an observation about something is not the same as endorsing/supporting it.

There are also people on here who support Trump and have tried to make arguments along those lines that Trump would be better for the LGBT community for whatever insane reason, so it's not a totally baseless conclusion to jump to.
