Do you have one that you return to every so often?

I have lots of things I return to, none that I really consider guilty pleasures.

Wizard's First Rule. I know its bad. I know it. But I love fantasy and for some reason I just love this book. Actually, the first four, but especially the first one.

I'm literally rewatching Legend of the Seeker now which is 100% my guilty pleasure show, and I'm probably going to reread Wizard's First Rule. It's not good but I can't help be fond of the series.

I got a couple of incest fics that I really like. Mostly of the Stiles/Sheriff variety. >.>

Barbara Cartland novel with an overweight heroine who ends up losing a bunch of weight and cares for a man temporarily blinded. It's so bad but I like a fluffy ending so there you go.

I have too many guilty pleasure fics to name, or even categorize.

For books, probably some of those old-fashioned bodice-rippers I secretly read as a young teen.

Oh, I have a whole stash of terrible hurt/comfort-y slashfic that mostly involves the characters acting really OOC and grown men acting like jealous teenagers and trying to kill themselves over their troubled relationships, usually involving rape or rescue from rape or humiliation through misunderstandings and/or one of the characters having a reputation for being a whore, that sort of thing. And often has various other characters villainized for the sake of the ship. It's so bad but if it's below a certain level of bad, I just eat that stuff up with a spoon. If it's merely mediocre or trying-to-be-serious-and-good, I hate it but the indulgently trashy stuff is wonderful.

I go back to reading the House of Night books when I really need a fix of trashy Mary Sue slutty teenage vampire romance.

I have a couple Harry Potter fics that I'll reread every few years. They're not even amazing, it's just nostalgia for me.

The Twilight books, except the last one because it just sucks too much.

Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter novels, particularly Seize the Night because Valerius is such a fanfic-style angst bucket and if I'm going to have my trashy vampire romance novels I may as well go whole-hog.
lb_lee: Mac and Rogan canoodling with a little heart above their heads. (love)

Anything with robots, golems, or constructs with existential questions.

If gender or sexuality issues are included, I WILL READ FUCKING ANYTHING.

And this is why I own O Human Star, Chester 5000, and Golem. Those aren't my guilty pleasures though--Artifice is. It's so sappy and full of Stockholmy romance tropes I normally hate, BUT GAY ROBOTS!!!!

Not specific fics, but I always liked Twilight imprint fics (especially when the girl is an OC).

Every so often I pick up House of Leaves. It's utter madness and it's not something I can re-read regularly, but dang.

Books: God help me I like regency romance. The Bridgerton series is a guilty pleasure I'll return to.

Fic: Gimme all your soulmate aus.
