The problem with treating sexual success as indicative of general worth is that it implies that there are a lot of really fucking awful people out there who are just fundamentally better than me as a human being.

Sometimes, when people make a big deal about their sexual exploits and get really defensive about it being important, they do that because it's the only thing where they feel they have had any success. Not to say getting laid and doing other things are mutually exclusive, but when people only want to brag about one thing, they probably don't have anything else going for them.
