She was probably one of the consistently coolest things in the parts of the EU set post-Jedi (probably helped by the fact that Zahn invented her). She was a kickass, hot, force-using woman ninja assassin with a bit of a morally grey edge. And her relationship with Luke was one of the best ones, and definitely the most fan approved. So, I mean, she was cool and appealed a lot to nerds. Wasn't a bad character. There was a lot of crap and she was mostly good.

If I said I thought Callista had a far more interesting backstory would you be mad at me?

(Ex-force ghost; grew up on a sea world; a hundred and eight thousand anecdotes about non-evil Jedi school; dealing with the loss of her powers... I just liked her better.)

But I think if you look at fandom as a whole, that whole storyline didn't exactly go over well.
