A lot like Star Trek but less advanced: destructive but non-devastatingmini-apocalypse of the economic and feuding factions variety, slow recovery and rebuilding, and cautious space age exploration and colonization of Mars and the rest of the solar system. Building of large high-capacity space stations. Contained micro-climates. Rigid adherence to sustainable-only everything due to huge paradigm shift in how we view the finite nature of our planet. Relatedly, massive investment in birth control.

IDK if we will have contact with aliens (this could probably only happen if it turns out we are massively wrongfooted or ignorant about certain scientific principles, or if we are encountered by a group of permanent exiles) but we will probably find evidence of their existence.
