We're not talking about solving a problem, we're talking about whether the United States is backwards. I agree it's a problem but it's one that most countries on earth are dealing with. Because it's a pretty hard problem to solve. It's not something where the United States is lagging behind the norm.

Except that the US considers itself leader of the free world and all that crap. Where as actually it just happens to be the richest country on earth but its politics are like that of a war torn African state.
