That said, I'm pretty sure Luke isn't getting a love interest in the new trilogy. I just don't see them going there with the character.

I hope you are right about this! And to me personally I would also prefer for him to not have been married/have a kid in the past (would be nixed by the very popular "Rey is his daughter" theory).

Luke should stand on his own and I like the idea of him being so dedicated to the Force and to Jedi ideals that he eschews romance. (Maybe also didn't want to try again after accidentally kissing his sister lmao)
