I agree. Responding to the author how you like is one thing.

But coming to a separate forum and going "oh my God, I can't believe this awful person didn't do what I told them to do" is a third thing.

I don't think she was awful, and she can do whatever she wants. I was genuinely trying to be helpful when I asked about spaces, and then when I saw she would rather be stubborn, I deleted my comments and moved on

Would "awful writer" be acceptable?

I don't think you're in the wrong for trying to help her and she may well be terrible, but coming to a totally separate place to rant about how a writer you think is bad won't accept a random stranger's suggestions for their story because that's not how they want to write it is not really classy.

"Don't put it in public if you don't want crit"? I didn't say anything about you leaving crit. But taking that crit then sharing it with other people and complaining it's not taken is a step further, is what I was saying.

I mean, I could've been even less classy by mentioning the fandom, linking the fic, and naming the author, but I didn't. If she can post whatever she wants under her blog name, then I can do the same. I just wanted a place to vent is all. I didn't name call or anything. I just said I was frsutrated.

I don't know. If you can't handle people not taking your crit, maybe don't give crit. Chances are the writers won't, so this is bound to happen a lot.

And obviously, you aren't good at taking crit either because every time I've disagreed with you or explained myself, you keep pushing me. If you can't handle people not taking your crit, maybe don't give crit.

Huh?

That was just a suggestion in response to all the people in this thread saying "the author shouldn't have put it up if she can't handle crit". If reviewers can't handle their crit not being taken, maybe they shouldn't leave it <- my suggestion

You can take it or leave it in the future, I don't really care.

Lol, it sounds like you care a lot. You took my venting thread to level 100. It was fun to watch and reply to, tbh.

Of... course? I care enough to reply here, yes. I don't really care what you choose to do with my suggestion in the future.

I guess you could have a comparison if I suggested not leaving crit, you kept leaving it and complaining it wasn't taken, then I went to tumblr and ranted about how someone didn't listen to what I said and how I'm screaming about it? Other than that I don't see how it's equal... idk.

Anyway, I've left my suggestion, so do what you will. That's as far as I can expect that to go.
