SPOILERS FOR BATTLE OF BASTARDS ON GAME OF THRONES

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2016-07-24 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Ramsey Bolton's (aka the most hated person in Westeros) army battles Jon Snow's army. The cinematography is amazing. In the end Jon Snow wins (barely) and beats the shit out of Ramsey. Sansa then feeds Ramsey to his dogs.

Here is a fanvid of the episode.

The battle was indeed spectacular. For some reason it felt more real than any other I've seen on GOT, I think because of the cavalry charge and the crush of bodies. It was beautifully filmed.

I think it was because of how...dirty it was. The closest thing to it is Saving Private Ryan. Also, the scene where Jon was almost suffocated was so well shot. It made me actually worry about whether he was going to make it out alive or not.

ayrt

Yeah it did have an Omaha Beach feel to it, just from the sheer carnage. I was actually more worried about Tormund dying, because Jon kinda has a Get Out Of Death Free card at the moment :D

Ok, that was a really cool video. I'm glad the better bastard won!

(That bit with Sansa at the end. DAMN.)

I'm having a hard time remembering ever feeling as satisfied by a fictional event as I did after watching that Sansa part in the episode. I actually told the person I was watching with "Wow, that felt so satisfying".
