Yes! I made good friends on LJ by talking back and having a conversation, which in my mind is kind of the point.

The best part is seeing how many of those folks have grown and change in the interim 10+ years! There were people I knew as a kid who had JUST started art school, and now they're pros working for greeting card companies and comics companies, going overseas on work trips, and I'm just so HAPPY for them, you know? It's just so wonderful feeling like I got to know them when they were just starting out, and watching them go so far!
