In this case, Swift talked about trying all these things and it makes OB panic. She carries the cat short distances to and from the car and that's it.

She carries her badly. If that cat panics when it's transported safely, it's because she's not used to it. That's something that can be worked on if you have time, patience and the desire to do what's best for your cat even if it temporarily inconveniences you.

Yeah, it's nothing against Taylor Swift specifically. Celebs just get caught on camera treating their pets like toys more often than the average clueless pet owner. Many cats don't like being put in cat carriers. I suspect the "panic" is just the cat expressing displeasure, probably loudly, and not actual panic. A pet owner is supposed to be responsible for the pet's safety, even if it involves things the pet doesn't like, like shots and heartworm medication and being put in a carrier or at least wearing a collar and harness when they're being carried through a busy city. A lot of kids are fussy about being strapped into a car seat, but that doesn't mean you hold them on your lap to drive because it makes them happier.

If your toddler panicked every time you put it in a car seat, would you just shrug and go "Oh well, little Caitlin doesn't like car seats, guess I'll just hold her in my lap while I drive"? Point is, there are lots of things cats don't like. It's an owner's responsibility to do what's best for the cat's safety and well being, and that includes training them to be comfortable in a carrier or some other safety restraint instead of risking them escaping in a dangerous urban environment with lots of traffic. Even being unrestrained in a moving car is not a good idea, because if there's a sudden stop or a crash, that cat's going to hit the windshield.
