A children's movie can be excused for being written at a fourth-grade level.

Star Wars isn't solely a childrens movie, though. Getting kids to see it was clearly part of their goal, but they want that valuable 18-35 demographic and it's pretty obviously designed to appeal nostalgically to the people who loved the original trilogy when they were kids.
