I'm glad that if a sequel happens, there's a good chance she'll be the main character this time.

I liked her, but I suspect they're going for a bigger story than just her.

But she's never paired with Lothar in game lore. And they changed other things too, so there is no reason they can't change this.

STill, the truth could prevent the war. The war goes on for a lonnnnggggggg time. I don't think they are going to change that.

Why would the truth prevent the attack. The truth wouldn't stop the humans from defending themselves. The orcs are following Gul'dan still and still using the Fel. And their culture is about war. So they are still going to attack. And the humans will defend themselves.

In the game lore, Garona has a child with Medivh, and Khadgar was his apprentice, which was such a defining part of his character that he introduces himself as "Medivh's former apprentice" 30 years later. They changed so much for the movie, they might as well make Garona a more prominent character.
