No idea, but Michael Ian Black is at the Strand and commented that he's not at the Barnes and Noble with Shane Dawson and that everyone should go to the Strand to meet Michael Ian Black.

Haha, no no, I'm at home now, but I follow the Strand on twitter because it's probably one of my favorite bookstores ever and they have tons of great book signings.

I guess Shane's at the Union Square B&N?

I can just imagine!

I ended up in NYC one year where Justin Bieber was performing on the Today show and there were teen girls in tents EVERYWHERE. This was also about 7 years so it was just screaming girls everywhere.

So who is Shane Dawson and why are preteen girls meeting him at B&N?

Not a clue. A girl in a denim romper with heart shaped pink tinted glasses and a purple fanny pack with cats on it was sobbing in the restroom, though.

A YouTuber who has published a couple of books. His YouTube videos tend to include taste-testing videos, testing viral hacks, I think he also does conspiracy theory videos, trying weird toys - and that's just his main channel. I think he also does satirical sketch comedy, and he does have a vlog channel as well.
His humour tends to be very self-deprecating as he's got a lower class background and a history of being overweight that he often makes fun of.

I sometimes watch some of his stuff, but I think those crying girls are typical kids reacting in an over-emotional way to a celebrity they are a fan of. If you really don't know anything about him, don't bother going to his presentation (I think it's because he's put out a new book and is on a book-signing tour).
