Check the instructions that come with the pill to see what the "wait period" is between when you start taking the pill and when you can consider it to have become effective. When I first went on the pill, I remember the doctor telling me to wait a week before having sex without using another method of birth control. It might vary from pill to pill, but I think a month is long enough that you don't need to worry!
