Transmetropolitan. Comes in 10 volumes plus two specials (Filth of the City and I Hate it Here.)

Weird goddamn book to read on election years.

I'm almost positive they won't have that haha. Sorry. Any super mainstream hero titles you think are good?

You never know!

Otherwise, try Frank Miller's early 80s Daredevil run or Batman: Year One. Arguably the only good things Frank Miller ever did.

Speaking of Daredevil, Brian Bendis' run is also aces.

All of this is great, I'll make a note thanks!

Also, I know you are a fan of Guy Gardner yeah? I've been catching up on Hal Jordan Green Lantern stuff, can you help me out with Guy? I haven't found a good directory for him.

I would avoid the 90s Guy Gardner title, it's awful and 90s and awful. That being said, he features heavily in Kyle Rayner's run on GL especially towards the end and is also heavily featured after Rebirth. I would recommend the Green Lantern line of comics post-Rebirth, actually, though they do multiply repeatedly before and after New 52. (It's also worth noting that New 52 doesn't really change much for the GL characters as they're so far removed from Earth and the rest of the superheroes)

If you're interested in Kyle Rayner's run, which has some of the best comics I've read, start with Vol. 3 #48.

Thanks a lot.

By Rebirth you mean the event that JUST HAPPENED right?

No. There was an event around 11 years ago called Green Lantern: Rebirth. It served as the capstone of Hal Jordan's fall from grace, death and eventual redemption, and formally re-established the original-form Green Lantern Corps which had been dormant since the early 90s. I'm willing to bet the new event was deliberately named that way as a callback to the GL event more or less returning to the old status quo.

The run-up to GL Rebirth can be best summed up the following way:

https://www.goodreads.com/series/90671-the-fall-and-redemption-of-hal-jordan

It's worth noting that A: Return of Superman should probably be read alongside Death of Superman which precedes it (obviously) and B) Emerald Twilight, Emerald Knights, and Brother's Keeper are all in Kyle's run on the monthly comic.

This is also missing Spectre Volume 4, a short-lived series (but really good) in which Hal serves as the Spectre after Day of Judgment. It should probably be the last thing you read before GL Rebirth.

Thanks for the thorough response. I'll make a note of all this stuff.

Okay this is off-topic but are you reading DC rebirth right now? What are your thoughts?
