It's funny because I don't think that type of thing would fly so well nowadays, at least not without people challenging it more or Case possibly stepping in. But I feel that kind of blatant bullying type stuff has gone away and has given way to a quieter kind of pressure in the atmosphere, where aggressive cynicism is the norm and if people hate and misunderstand you that's just the price you pay for being here. I mean we don't all gotta hug each other and sing campfire songs, but the low-key hostility is really off-putting. It's why I don't comment here much even though I'm here every day. Every time I comment I ask myself "if this blows up into a shit-flinging disaster, do I have the mental energy to deal with it?" and the answer is usually "Fuck No."

No I get you. I feel the same way. Nowadays, its seems like whenever I post something, no matter how small or innocent, there's always a 50-50 chance someone's gonna deliberately misunderstand what I'm saying and freak out and/or passive aggressively insult me.
It's really annoying after a while and I low-key wish some of the more aggressive and cynical users here would just fuck off and leave forever.
