What I find interesting about the two films is that 2001 (although filmed in 1968) has a much more futuristic feel to it, vs 2010 (filmed in 1984) which feels so much like the 80s.

You know how people say "oh, this thing threw me out of the fic"? The 80's-ness of 2010 throws me right out of that film.

But I'm glad it's got its fans - we can all find different things in the same movies. :)
