Loosely inspired by #6: H/C preferences

(Anonymous) 2016-07-31 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I've noticed that in the same way that people like certain shipping dynamics, people tend to like certain H/C dynamics. What kinds of characters do you like to see hurt, f!s? What kinds of characters do you like to see comforting?

Typo: People tend to *dislike*.

I like the character who is hurt to be the stoic one, so that they actually NEED the help and comforting that they would otherwise say they don't want (despite actually wanting it.)

That's hard to describe. They have to be characters I like. It has to tap into some of my own issues, I think, but that's more vague.

On another level, I just like cute guys bloodied and bruised up.

I a m/f dynamic, I'll what that lady to be comforting and the guy hurt (in some cases they can switch, but I generally won't enjoy the full reversed dynamic).

In slash, it's sort of harder to define. I guess the character I fancy more of the two, would be more likely to be the hurt party.

Started watching the 100. Saw Bellamy get his ass kicked/get sick/etc, finally understood why people would like whump or h/c. Because it was doing it for me.

Because I like seeing that kind of character in a h/c position.

He's a bit of an asshole, tries to come off as a badass, is a natural leader, but inside, he's actually really sweet, not as rough and tough as he appears.

The ones I want hurt are the characters I love. It is great if they are normally a stoic, keep your emotions bottled up type. I don't care who takes care of them to be honest. Friends, family, partners, strangers. I love it all.

Broadly speaking, I want to see good people comforting people who are trying to be good.

I like when the big, tough character gets hurt/sick and the not so big, not so tough character dotes on them.

I also like it when an antagonist gets hurt, and the protagonist has to take care of them, all while side eyeing each other and being extra cautious around each other.

Also, two dysfunctional/sick characters trying to help each other through their messes. Neither one of them is in a position to be a comforter, but they still try their hardest to help the other.

Basically, I like the comfort/healing aspect a lot more than the hurt/whump.
