Re: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Yep, read it first thing this morning! I laughed, I gasped, I got teary-eyed, I... well, yes, I rolled my eyes a lot, lol. But it was a lot of fun. Yes, it's ridiculous, and no, it's not some ~grand literary masterpiece~ but Albus and Scorpius are the most adorable "losers" ever, and I think Scorpius might be my new favorite Harry Potter character.

I wish there were people to squee about it with. Everyone I know either isn't interested or is SO ENRAGED that it exists and is silly, which is a little weird to me, but maybe I'm just easily entertained?

I'd love to see it on stage. Based on the minimal description given, I bet the effects are really something to experience.

NGL, I'm not even a huge Potter fan but I kind of want to read this because of Albus and Scorpius' friendship.

I'm surprised fandom isn't embracing it at least a bit because those two sound very shippable, and a large subset of fandom is all about the shipping. (This is not an insult...I too, am all about the shipping.)

AYRT (with some mild spoilers, beware)

Albus and Scorpius's friendship is too cute for words. And Harry and Draco have their moments too, from dueling to reluctant heart-to-hearts. It's a really shippable play! The plot is silly, but I think it's worth reading for the characters and their issues and interactions. And Scorpius. I can't stress enough how original and geeky and perfectly lovable Scorpius's character is. He steals the play TBH.

I haven't been in the tumblr tag much and I don't follow many HP fans, but even so I've heard that Scorpius is pretty much the perfect character, and people who have read the play seem to be latching onto him. Considering how much people hated his name (not blaming them, mind), I'm kind of amused that everyone seems to adore him.

If I read it, I probably would to!

Might try to get my hands on it one day, if only for the fact that it sounds like a super slashy genfic that I would have a lot of fun with.

(Plus, the Harry/Draco stuff appeals to me too. I didn't come out of HP shipping much, but that was a ship I was intrigued by.)

Doesn't he though?!
