I see why you were so moved. lol.
That was really heartwarming, but damn...I didn't think Mass Effect could get much sadder than canon! The author did a good job of writing a believable scenario between the two of them. If things had been different, maybe that could've been canon.

Mass Effect is traumatizing even without the possible deaths; those really aren't necessary on top of everything else. (Mordin and Thane and Legion...I mean, Mass Effect 3 was fucking rough. And the thing is, all those deaths were absolutely spectacular in terms of writing, but that only makes the feels more difficult to control.)
