Ed/Scar was my FMA 2003 OTP!!! Remains one of my top OTPs of all time.

But even then, when he was prettier and arguably 5000% more angsty, he still didn't get shipped a lot. I never found it especially surprising that he wasn't more popular, tho, mainly because his looks don't really gel with a lot of anime shipping trends. Those who are saying he looks bara are not wrong. I always got the impression that Scar fit ARAKAWA'S ideal of hotness, but almost no one else's.

I'd even send you off to read my one fic I wrote since I used to think it was super good, but now I find it pretty embarrassing, so I'll just say... there is at least ONE super long shippy fic about him on AO3. I know this for a FACT since I was the one who wrote it. :)
