Unfortunately the movie industry being what it is, the Ghostbusters need to hit Katniss- or Rey-level box office for it to get any credit.

Hunger Games got attention for having a female lead because it beat Marvel Movies. Force Awakens was a record breaker. Yet another summer movie isn't going to change sexism in Hollywood.

Especially when everyone involved was only FURTHERING sexism in Hollywood by trying to claim that any and all negative things said about it were due to people being against a female-led movie. Even when those negative things were women saying they were sick of having femaleness used as a marketing ploy.

No it just needs to be a success.

If Sony wasn't greedy and gave this film a modest budget it could have been a hit and made news that way.
