This isn't one of those "poor people should be GRATEFUL for every measley scrap they have; how dare they not care about something getting ruined!!!" comments is it?

I read it more as like... someone with less means to replace something that's been destroyed/broken is more likely to react negatively/more 'extremely' to that loss than someone who has the discretionary funds to think, "Oh I have to go get a new [object] now. Oh well."

It's sad, but isn't it true? As a poor person who probably couldn't afford even the simplest of repairs or even insurance I'm extra protective of the stuff I do have. Not necessarily out of sentimentality, but because if something happened to that stuff then it's gone for good. This also goes for my own health.

Dude, I'm poor and replacing destroyed objects is a huge deal for me. A rich person can afford to not care, a poor person can't.

+1 I'm poor too and losing even small things upsets me because I often can't afford to replace them.
