(Anonymous) 2016-08-02 12:01 am (UTC)(link)in my case, one was just a temp-to-hire that I could back out of at any time. I didn't know going into it that my body could not physically handle 8 hours of repetitive-motion bulk sewing. Learned. Quit.
the other was sort of like yours - although I didn't know until I was flown out to Albuquerque that I didn't want to take the job. A friend in town was able to give me the dirt on the company after the interview, so I turned them down and they promptly dropped me on my ass and left me to try to fend for myself in a strange city for two days until my flight home. the company went under 6 months later.
you can go out there and scope it out in person, but if you're still getting bad vibes, it doesn't matter what kind of contract they want you to sign, you can still turn the job down. being flown to an interview does not require you to take the job.
