One thing worth pointing out, it isn't phonetics it is written in. It is dialect, several dialects in fact. It is one of the key texts that anyone even thinking about writing in Scottish accents need to read if they want to get it authentic.

What is the specific difference? Writing the accent of another dialect out phoenetically is...still phoenetic.

phonetic accent is how someone thinks words sound, dialect is that these are the actual words and not just sounds. para handy uses dialect not accent
