I'm so over people making sweeping statements about any kind of book. I read a ton of literary fiction and I have never once read one about a white man having a mid-life crisis even though supposedly that's what they're all about. I've read all kinds of YA that has nothing to do with vampires or love triangles. ASOIAF is not the only fantasy out there with any kind of moral complexity. I'm just tired of it.

I agree! Like I said, it's only when people have a huge chip on their shoulder that I side eye them hard.

I know what you mean. Apparently it's just not possible for people to defend their reading choices without insulting other types of books in the process.
