...Or it could not be. It's got the right formula to be epic, but it seems to fall flat--I really lost a lot of faith in Gainax for it.

Same goes to you, you can like 'Gurren' but not all of think it's the greatest thing to sliced bread--and this is coming from someone who's been forcing herself into the series repeatedly over and over...

Random anon I think you hit the nail on the head about how I've been dealing with TTGL. I suppose when I am constantly surrounded by people who think that as a social group and all they do it quote it, watch things about it, rant and rave about it, cosplay it... it starts to create that awful dynamic of being a loner in a group of friends.
