ANOTHER PERSON is leaving my department. I swear, I was the last hire that was looking for a place to stay, not a way-station between college and the next gig.

That's how a lot of jobs work...you can't really fault people for wanting to move on, unless they're breaking a formal contract. :/

I...didn't say I was faulting anyone? I'm just disappointed that we don't hire people who want to stay and frustrated that our already short staff is getting shorter. Jesus, can't we even vent in a venting thread without "now, be reasonable, OP," popping in?

I felt like that. Then they hired three extra people and cut my hours down to 12.

I was happier doing the extra work if that meant my rent and bills get paid this month.
