Apparently Alec Lightwood is the only gay role model kids have these days. So, if they see him in a fanfic with a woman the author is obviously a homophobe saying that BEING GAY IS NOT A REAL THING AND IF YOU ARE GAY YOU ARE WRONG AND SHOULD BE STRAIGHT!
